Installing EXTREME4 Ipe Clip hidden deck fasteners with a 5/32 in. gap is quick, giving contractors and DIY home-owners a high end, fastener-free decking surface. EXTREME4 fasteners utilize an edge-mount system in order to attach hardwood decking boards. This proprietary design offers camouflage between gaps of the deck boards, keeping the fastener out of sight. EXTREME4 is molded from a semi-pliable polypropylene that gives additional chemical and UV resistant properties. EXTREME4 Fasteners are crafted with a hardened stainless steel insert covered in black oxide. The insert holds decking to joists for a prolonged hold-down. EXTREME4 hidden deck fasteners are tested to be up to 3X tougher and more robust than other leading edge-mount fastening methods. When using the EXTREME4, deck boards are secured only on one side. This allows for the expected expansion and contraction that naturally occurs with hardwood decking. Created as a biscuit deck fastener, the EXTREME4 fits into the deck boards edge slot or groove. Pro contractors and builders may router the 5/32 in. edge groove, or use a job site biscuit joiner or choose to invest in pre-grooved decking boards. Deck screws are inserted at 45 through the fastener, down into the bottom boards grooved edge and then downward into the joist.
