Product Description
Conquer the dust problem in your workshop with iVAC's automated dust control system! Connect any tool with a dust collection port to iVAC's system and breathe easier! At the heart of iVAC's system is the Pro Switch, which automatically activates your shop vacuum or dust collector when you turn on a power tool that is connected to the system. Each power tool connects to the switch box via a Pro Tool Plus automatic sensor. The Pro Tool Plus senses power via the magnetic field surrounding the tool's power cord and then communicates with the Pro Switch via a wireless signal to turn on the dust collector.
System set-up is simple! Just plug the Pro Switch into an outlet and plug the dust collector into the switch. The Pro Tool Plus unit attaches to the power tool cord with a screw-down clamp. Once you connect your power tool to your dust collector, you are ready to go!
The main limitation to controlling dust collectors is the start-up current surge, which can be as much as 4 to 5 times the running current and last for several seconds, causing possible damage to the switch box. The included iVAC Contactor solves that problem! The iVAC Contactor is a heavy-duty 3-pole relay housed in an electrical box. Used with a Switch Box or Pro Switch, the Contactor has the ability to withstand surge currents of up to 150 Amps and maintain a running current of up to 40 Amps. Rated to operate at up to 230VAC single-phase or up to 600VAC three-phase, and can control dust collectors up to 10HP (depending on the configuration of the collector).
