Tormek SVM-140 Long Knife Jig is developed especially for long, thin and flexible knives, such as filleting knives. Its larger width, 5-1/2 inches, stabilizes a long and thin blade and can cope with blades longer than 6-1/4 inches. It works in the same way as the SVM-45 jig but it is wider and therefore gives more support to long and thin blades. The jig is comprised of an adjustable clamp for holding knives up to 3/16" (5mm) thickness and an adjustable stop. You adjust the jig to the knife thickness with the screw and lock the tool by tightening the knob. The jig rests on the Universal Support, which is placed vertically for grinding towards the edge. The exact edge angle is set by rotating the stop or with the Micro Adjust on the Universal Support.
This jig is designed especially for long and flexible knives such as filleting knives. It works the same way the Tormek Knife Jig works, but its larger width, 5-1/2" (140mm), stabilizes a long and thin blade. The jig handles blades at least 6-1/4" (160mm) in length. For use with the Tormek T-7, T-4 and T-3 Sharpening Systems.
